Paul Smith invited Claire Canning to create the ‘Chatsworth’ room at their Heathrow Terminal 5 shop.
The brief was to create a unique retail experience, projecting the individuality and ‘English’ aesthetic of the Paul Smith brand.
The outcome was a series of bespoke hand painted wallpapers and panels inspired by the Duke of Devonshire’s Study in Chatsworth House.
In depth research trips to Chatsworth House and the V&A archives were made, sourcing historical references to wall coverings, frescoes, ceiling and wall treatments.
